INTRODUCTION

BetConnect is an exchange betting platform which allows users to both place (or back) a bet and lay (or match) a bet. Users who place a bet can choose which sport and selection they want to back, and the bet is then made available to layers to match the bet. Some layers will use technology such as APIs to match the bet and therefore not all bets can be seen by all layers.

  1. General

BetConnect takes every effort to ensure that betting is carried out in a fair and secure manner.

BetConnect reserves the right to amend these rules as necessary.

BetConnect does not accept responsibility for any errors or omissions with regard to event and market data.

Bets are created by users and distributed to potential layers to match.

These rules will apply unless superseded by the Terms and Conditions or market-specific rules.

  1. Customer Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to have read and accepted the BetConnect Betting Rules prior to partaking in any betting activity.

  1. Customer Disputes

Customers should contact support@betconnect.com if they feel that the BetConnect Rules were not properly enforced. Any disputes will be dealt with in a prompt and professional manner.

In the event that BetConnect is unable to resolve any dispute to customer satisfaction, IBAS (Independent Betting Adjudication Service) are our third party adjudicators in all disputed matters. All contact with IBAS regarding a dispute must be carried out in writing and an adjudication form must be requested in the first instance. IBAS contact details for adjudication are as follows: IBAS
PO Box 62639, London EC3P 3AS. Tel: 0207 347 5883. Fax: 0207 347 5882. Email: adjudication@ibas-uk.co.uk

Alternatively you can register your dispute at: https://www.ibas-uk.com/

4. Placing A Bet Rules

A user creates a bet using the bet slip, which allows the user to initially select the event they wish to place a bet on. The user is then presented with additional fields which need completing before the bet can be submitted. Required fields are highlighted and must be completed in full before a betcan be submitted. The ‘Place Bet’ button will not be available until all required fields have been completed. The fields available for a Bet Request are:

4.1. Market – The specific market that the user wishes to place the bet on based on the previously selected event.

4.2. Selection – Based on the market selected, the selection will change. e.g. for teams to score in soccer, the names of the team for that event will be displayed. For a full breakdown of markets, please click here

4.3. Bet Type – Only available for Horse Racing. The type of bet the user wants to be matched. Either Win or Each Way can be selected.

4.4. Price – The price which the user wants to place the bet at.

4.5. Stake – The amount the user wants to stake on the bet.

Once all the details have been completed and reviewed by the user, they click on the “Place Bet” button which submits the bet to the BetConnect platform, which then makes the bet available for layers to match..

Once the bet has been submitted it cannot be amended or edited.

Once the bet has been submitted it can be cancelled on request using the “Stop Bet” feature. The cancellation will only take effect when the “Stop Bet” request is accepted by the BetConnect platform and implemented. After this point, the bet will not be distributed to any additional layers.

Per Terms and Conditions 8.2, a bet can only be submitted when there are available funds in the account to cover the bet and any commission or additional fees payable. Should the user attempt to submit a bet with insufficient funds in the account, they will be prompted to make an additional deposit to cover the amount requested, or have the option to either submit the bet with a lower stake that is covered by the available funds, or cancel the bet completely.

BetConnect will charge the user commission based on the profit won on an individual market. The standard commission rate charged is 2%. BetConnect may, at its sole discretion, change the commission rate charged to a user by sending an e-mail notification of the change with an immediate effective date and governing all bets submitted after the e-mail notification is sent.

The user can see the status of their bet in the My Bets section.

5. Laying A Bet  Rules

If a user wants to lay a bet, it is possible to switch to the lay side by clicking Lay Side.

The lay side user will be able to view bets placed on the BetConnect platform, if it hasn’t already been matched by another user.

By matching the bet, the lay user accepts to do so at the stated odds as specified in the bet.

6. Settlement

BetConnect will make every effort for bets to be settled as quickly as possible after the outcome of an event has been determined and will rely on the official result published by the event’s governing body. Alternatively, in the event that the information is not published as above, we will use publicly verifiable sources of information.

BetConnect reserves the right to delay settlement should the outcome be unclear or controversial.

BetConnect reserves the right to void or resettle markets should new information become available, such as cheating or rules violations.

7. Voiding Bets

BetConnect reserves the right to void any markets where the outcome cannot be reasonably determined.

We reserve the right to void any bet for any reason before or after the event has occurred. This may be due to fraud, technical error or settlement error.

We reserve the right to recover funds that were disbursed in error.

8. Exceptional Circumstances

Abandonments – If the event does not conclude within 36 hours of the scheduled time, all bets are void.

Cancellations – If the event is cancelled, all bets are void.

Postponements – If an event is postponed more than 36 hours from the scheduled time, all bets are void.

Change of Opponents – If there is a change in opponents for an event, all bets are void.

Change of Venue – If there is a change in venue, all bets are void.

Periods of Time – If the length of the event is modified, all bets are void.

When a dead heat occurs for first place, the stake money on the winning selection will be divided by the number of winners and the full odds paid on the reduced stake. The remainder of the stake is lost.

Where an each way bet involves a dead heat winner, the win part of the bet will be settled as above and the place part will be settled in full, in accordance with the relevant place terms. Should the dead heat only involve placed selections and results in more than the allocated number of places, then the stakes will be divided, as before and settled to the full place terms.

10. Horse Racing

Abandoned Races, Void Races and Walk-Overs

If a race is abandoned, declared void or has only one runner (also known as a walkover), bets placed on horses in that race will be void.

Each Way Markets Rules
An Each Way bet is made up of 2 parts: the ‘Win’ and the ‘Place’.
Each part is an equal stake, e.g. a £1 Each Way bet will have £1 on the ‘Win’ and £1 on the ‘Place’ (a total stake of £2).
The ‘Win’ part of your bet is on your selection to win the event, and the ‘Place’ part is on your selection to finish either first or in one of the pre-determined places.
If your selection wins, both the ‘Win’ and ‘Place’ parts of your bet will pay out. But if your selection only places, you will lose the ‘Win’ part of your bet (and lose that part of the stake) but get paid out on the ‘Place’.
The odds for the ‘Place’ are given as a fraction of the odds for the ‘Win’ and will be displayed to you when you place your bet.
The ‘Place’ part of Each Way bets will be given the following Place terms:

Non-Handicap Races

2 – 4 Runners Win Only

5 – 7 Runners 1/4 the Odds 1, 2

8 or more Runners 1/5 the Odds 1, 2, 3

16 or more Runners 1/4 the Odds 1, 2, 3, 4In all races the number of runners shall be the number of runners coming under starters orders.
Things to Consider:
Please Note: Non-runners in a race can affect the Each-Way terms of your bet.For example, if your bet is placed in an 8 runner race, and a horse later withdraws reducing the field to 7, the Each-Way terms will change from 1/5 odds first 3 places to 1/4 odds on the first 2 places only. Similarly, if a race is reduced from 5 runners to 4, the place terms will change from 1/4 odds for the first 2 places, to ‘Win only’.

Should a greyhound be withdrawn or is a non runner all bets prior to the withdrawal on that selection will be void with bets on the remaining runners in the race being settled at S.P. This is also applicable if a reserve runner is added to the race.

Bets placed subsequent to the withdrawal will be settled on the price selected, assuming there are no further withdrawals.
